Youth Opportunity Fund
Youth Matters, the Governments paper on youth services, said that 13 to 19 year olds should have more say over what is provided in their area. Kirklees Young People’s Service has been allocated a £200,000 Youth Opportunity Fund for youth activities for 2006/7, and young people must decide how it is spent.
Local panels of young people are being set up in June and July 2006, and these will assess applications to the Youth Opportunity Fund. Funds can be used for activities which benefit 13-19 year olds, so long as young people have been fully involved in planning and deciding on the activities. Below are the forms and guidance you need to apply for funds.
